American Airpower Museum & Republic Airport

The American Airpower Museum located at 1230 New Highway in Farmingdale will be having their annual Memorial Day Celebration at Republic Airport to pay tribute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Here are some events and things to expect during the celebration (Notice: All of this information is tentative and subject to change due to weather or safety conditions):

  • Flybys and  flight demonstrations with the museum’s WWII era aircraft such as the B-25 Mitchell and P-40 Warhawk.
  • Flybys and flight demonstrations from performers at the 2012 Jones Beach airshow.
  • Get up close and personal with many historic WWII aircraft such as the C-47 Skytrain and P-47 Thunderbolt.
  • Best view to watch  and photograph the arrivals and landings of Jones Beach Airshow aircraft.
  • Flight experiences on WWII era aircraft such as the B-17 Yankee Lady.
  • Static display aircraft and armor.
  • Many photo opportunities.
  • WWII and Airpower museum exhibits.
  • Experiences on the American Airpower Museum’s bomber simulator.
  • Children’s activities.

* The EA-6 Prowler and EA-18 Growler are tentative
* The only time the EA-6 and EA-18 will be flying will be for arrival and departure. It will be on static display for the Memorial Day Celebration.
